About the Role
The Electrical Designer will be based out of our Kelowna office. Working under the direction of more senior Eningeers the Electrical Designer will be responsible for modelling electrical systems (in AutoCAD and/or Revit) for commercial and institutional building projects.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop construction document packages in AutoCAD and/or Revit, designing a building's electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and communications.
- Integrate electrical details into the working drawings.
- Research for the sourcing of equipment and vendors.
- Apply AutoCAD and Revit standards following AES procedures and guidelines.
- Provide support for plotting and sending of electronic file submissions.
- Attend field reviews with Project Managers and/or Field Service Representatives
- Liaise with Architects, Interior Designers, and other disciplines.
- Other duties assigned as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:

At least 1 year of consulting engineering experience, specifically in the building industry with electrical projects
Our Must Haves:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with eligibility to register with EGBC as an EIT.
- Completed post-secondary course(s) or equivalent training in power systems is an asset.
- Completed a minimum of one course or have working proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize various tasks and have a flexible approach to assignments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and various other construction documentation
- Strong communication skills and willingness to coordinate with clients and other disciplines (Architectural, Mechanical, Interior Designers, etc.)
- Able to work within a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, willing to meet quick deadlines and handle multiple projects.
Compensation: 55-65K (Depending on experience)
