SUMMARY

The Frontend Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining user interfaces for web applications using React and TypeScript. As part of an advanced software development team, this role focuses on building responsive and efficient frontend components while ensuring a seamless user experience. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in frontend development, with expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern development practices. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and attention to detail in both coding and documentation are essential for success in this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Frontend Development

  • Design, develop, and implement dynamic and responsive web applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices in frontend development.
  • Ensure optimal performance and scalability of the user interface.

Testing and Debugging

  • Perform thorough testing, including unit and integration tests, to ensure the quality and functionality of the frontend code.
  • Debug and resolve frontend-related issues efficiently, ensuring a smooth user experience.

Technical Documentation

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for frontend development processes and components.
  • Ensure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date for future development needs.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate effectively with backend developers, UX/UI designers, and other team members to deliver high-quality features.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Tools and Methodology

  • Utilize modern frontend development tools and frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript, Webpack) to optimize the development process.
  • Apply agile methodologies and version control tools (e.g., Git) to ensure efficient project management and workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in frontend development, focusing on React and TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in modern web development principles, especially related to building reusable components and managing state in React.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in a frontend context.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Knowledge of DoD software development policies and requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Hybrid work environment. In-person collaboration is required to support engagement with the software engineering team. In addition to in-office days, employees have the flexibility to telework (with supervisor approval) on designated days or as needed, provided they adhere to established communication protocols and fulfill their work responsibilities effectively. Additionally, travel may be required to customer and subcontractor sites as well as other office locations.
