Vaco is seeking a Mobile UX Designer for an innovative technology company in the construction and building sector. This part-time contract role (20 hours per week) is well-suited for professionals with full-time roles looking to expand their design portfolio. Flexibility is key, with one required weekly meeting accommodating PST/EST.

Summary
Vaco is conducting a search on behalf of a forward-thinking tech organization in the construction and building industry. We are seeking a Mobile UX Designer with experience in mobile design for field users, particularly in construction or related industries. This part-time role, at 20 hours per week, is ideal for someone currently employed full-time and looking for additional design work. The hours are flexible, with the exception of one required meeting overlapping with PST/EST once per week.

Role Overview
As a Mobile UX Designer, you will create an accessible, user-centered mobile app tailored to the construction industry. This prototype will enable construction managers in the field to capture data and communicate effectively, with features like zoom, voice-to-text, and video/photo integration. Accessibility design experience is essential, ensuring ease of use for field-based teams. You'll collaborate with engineers and product experts to deliver intuitive design solutions for this innovative project.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop wireframes, prototypes, and detailed UX/UI designs for a mobile app tailored to field professionals in the construction industry.
* Lead accessibility design efforts, making features intuitive, usable, and accessible for field-based users.
* Conduct targeted user research and usability testing, focusing on accessibility standards for hands-on users in active environments.
* Work closely with engineers and industry experts to refine features like voice-to-text, zoom, and photo/video capture.
* Participate in one major weekly meeting and collaborate asynchronously with global teams.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
* 7+ years in UX design, with 4+ years focused on mobile UX for construction, building, or field-related applications.
* Strong experience in accessibility design for mobile with a focus on usability for field environments.
* Proven background in user research, usability testing, and iterative design processes specifically for mobile and field settings.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD, and agile methodologies.
* Experience with A/B testing, user analytics, and information architecture for accessible design.
* Strong analytical skills, with an understanding of user behavior in field-focused environments.
