Graphic Designer
Position Summary
Coker University seeks a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our Marketing and Communications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of publication layout, organizational branding, and professional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). This role will involve designing a wide range of materials that enhance the university's brand, including print publications, digital assets, and promotional items.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce high-quality print and digital publications, including brochures, flyers, event programs, newsletters, and other collateral.
- Ensure consistency with Coker University's branding and visual identity guidelines across all materials.
- Collaborate with various departments to create marketing materials that support recruitment, fundraising, and university awareness campaigns.
- Manage the layout, design, and production process for university publications, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of content.
- Work with external vendors, such as printers and photographers, to produce materials that meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Assist in the creation of digital assets for the university website, social media platforms, and email campaigns.
- Stay current with design trends and technology advancements to ensure Coker's materials remain innovative and engaging.
- Oversee graphic design interns from Coker University's undergraduate graphic design program
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field OR 5 years working as a professional graphic designer
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in publication layout, branding, and digital design.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with pre-press and print production processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education or with nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge of website design and basic HTML/CSS.
- Photography and video editing skills are a plus.
