This career opportunity is hybrid to the San Antonio, TX location.

Responsibilities:
  • Compile source data for property tax returns and ensure it ties to the general ledger for all BD legal entities (multistate).
  • Review property tax renditions and work papers from 3rd party for plants, leased and owned assets for all BD entities and provide timely feedback to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze leased asset property tax calculations from 3rd party used to bill-back leased assets to customers. Respond to tax questions from customers as needed.
  • Compile and reconcile property tax accounts including analyzing accruals and payments. Provide guidance to stakeholders on true ups, accrual changes, amortization as needed.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Tax Group
  • Present accurate and complete data to stakeholders including documenting process and following internal controls.
  • Compile clear, reliable data for fixed assets for lien dates for personal property tax from SAP and stakeholders.
  • Identify issues in current data and processes and lead the team to implement changes.
  • Assist with IT projects to upgrade software, improve processes, or troubleshoot issues.
  • Handle all property tax audit requests and appeals, working with business units, customers, third party consultants and state auditors directly.
  • Review property tax inbox requests for leased asset buyouts as requested.


Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required with a focus in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred
  • Experience in Personal Property Tax strongly preferred
  • Advanced SQL and Python experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel usage with ability to manipulate data (VLookUp, Pivot Tables, Charts) required
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience of GAAP Accounting required and knowledge of SOX controls/compliance preferred
  • BI experience preferred
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • ERP Experience (SAP preferred)
