What you will be doing:
  • You will be part of the CIO Delivery Management Office team, helping to manage, change and plan to meeting defined organizational goals through projects, programs or in alignment with Delivery Management governance and ways of working.
  • Using available tooling, ensure that project governance standards are being followed.
  • Responsibilities include estimation, work package planning & resourcing. Identify and manage Risks, Issues and Dependencies.
  • Produce project status reports. Agree and review plans, costs and resources with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Success will be measured by the delivery of infrastructure initiatives to a defined level of quality, on time and to the expected operational standards.
  • Work with Technical leads and Service owners to review and support best practices.
  • Manage the production of key project deliverables to support the realization of forecast project benefits.
  • Direct and motivate the project team.
  • Manage Project Risk, Issues, Dependencies and Assumptions including the development of contingency plans.
What you bring:
  • Experience of delivering Infrastructure projects ie Network, Compute, Storage, Cloud etc.
  • Driven individual with experience of working in an environment with both Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
  • 5+ years Infrastructure Project Management experience
  • Excellent Communications skills, written and spoken, able to recognize and articulate project risks and issues for others to understand.
  • Skills in building trust, willing to express opinions in debates, buy into decisions showing commitment and be accountable.

Additional Skills:
Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge and experience utilizing various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles (e.g., conversions, client/server, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation) and the correct project application
Extensive knowledge and skill in project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines, and recommends improvements to realize efficiencies
Extensive knowledge of communications/escalation management
Considerable knowledge and experience with company's procurement management processes (e.g., acquiring goods and services, selecting and managing internal and/or external resources)
Considerable knowledge and experience with company's budgeting and forecasting processes
Demonstrated broad knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry (e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma) and how their use benefits the organization
Advanced skill in the use of project management software to manage projects (e.g., MS Project and auxiliary tools, such as earned value database, audit tools, project repository, including risk, issues and action items database, SLIM Estimate, Metrics and Control, PlanView, Platinum Process Continuum)

Skills:
Skill in using a breadth of project experience and project management expertise to effectively transfer knowledge to any project situation (i.e., ranging from internal to conversions to software development projects)
Skill in leveraging knowledge and experience using the industry project management best practices (i.e., Project Management Body of Knowledge - PMBOK) to play a leadership role by providing feedback for continuous process improvement
Skill in working with stakeholders to increase their understanding of potential risks and the steps being taken to mitigate them
Skill in interviewing and conducting assessments to partner with clients and project teams to create an open, comfortable and win-win environment
Skill in clearly defining client's business, fiscal, and functional objectives for the project and, then, preparing a scope statement that summarizes the project justification, major deliverables, and project objectives
Demonstrated skill in managing budgets and timelines of small to large-sized projects
Skill in the use of negotiation techniques to reach agreement when there are widely-differing viewpoints
Skill in managing change to project scope
Skill in analysis, problem solving and the implementing effective solutions
Skill in innovation/creativity

Abilities:
Ability to coach others in skills required to plan and estimate resource needs of complex projects
Ability to oversee the development of schedules that result in on-time releases of large and complex projects
Ability to use a variety of company and industry sources to assess and predict trends in estimating the resource needs of complex and large projects
Ability to secure needed approval from senior management to changes in project budgets that accompany changes in project scope
Ability to use meeting management, conflict management, presentation techniques and listening skills to facilitate effective project communications
Ability to accurately differentiate issues and determine who needs to be consulted/updated and whether the issue requires escalation, effectively expediting decision-making on project-related issues as appropriate (e.g., effectively navigates the Fidelity matrix, follows project escalation path)
Ability to understand and comply with the terms and conditions of the contract(s) within own area of responsibility; works with other to resolve contractual issues as they are identified
Ability to provides timely project or sub-plan deliverables that align with the program plan structure (e.g., schedules, communications, configuration management, quality and staffing plans, interdependencies, metrics, status reports)
Ability to maintain continuity and consistency across multiple plans within a program while providing project-level deliverables for the program communications plan
Ability to support the overall program and look beyond the confines of the individual project for the best interests of the program
Ability to understand the clients' needs, establish credibility and build effective relationships with client contacts
Ability to maintain and coordinate productivity and to effectively manage workloads
Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance and build high morale among team members
Ability to consistently set challenging goals and hold self and others firmly to timetables for accomplishing goals/tasks despite obstacles
