SYSTEMS ENGINEER

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Supporting the development and review of interface documents, system/subsystem requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, and authoring and performing formal and informal engineering reviews
• Providing use case briefing development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department
• Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as-required
• Participate in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning, status, and agile team leadership
• Support various tasks on short notice

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering with at least 5 years of professional experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles
• Should have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
• Experience in decomposing requirements from parent-level requirements to lower system/subsystem-level requirements
• Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Use Cases Briefings, Sequence Diagrams, etc.)
• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions
• Ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings
• Must be able to write and implement engineering plans within a project
• Relevant experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects
• Demonstrated contributions to implementation that included the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that led to a fielded product
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
• Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience working within an Agile development environment
• Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
