Job Purpose
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer will support the daily activities of the operations organization to ensure effective manufacturing processes and practices. This position will provide hands-on technical support and expertise, ensure adherence to safety rules and practices, monitor manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements or improve quality, and recommend corrective actions to assure or improve product quality and reliability.

Job Purpose
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer will support the daily activities of the operations organization to ensure effective manufacturing processes and practices. This position will provide hands-on technical support and expertise, ensure adherence to safety rules and practices, monitor manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements or improve quality, and recommend corrective actions to assure or improve product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and apply process technology knowledge to assist operations in:
- Maintaining production performance
- Process Safety and environmental compliance
- Product yield improvements
- Uptime performance tracking and continuous improvement
- Trouble-shooting support for process or quality issues
- Provide technical oversight for day-to-day operation
- Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts for both process and product technology
- Implement technology elements of process safety (technology documentation, hazard analysis, management of change, etc.)
- Participate in and execute both small and large capital projects (basic data collection, front end loading, safety reviews, commissioning, start-up, etc.)
- Assist in training the manufacturing line organization (operations & maintenance) to boost the organization s knowledge and capability
Skills include:
- Well-developed technical writing skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of chemical processes and methodologies applicable to a manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must work well in both self-managed and team environment.
- Self-motivated, ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations, ability to establish and maintain budgets, Project management skills
- Capital project or continuous improvement experience
- Familiar with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) technology elements such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Process Technology, Management of Change (MOC), Mechanical Integrity / Quality Assurance (MIQA), Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP)
- Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering or similar field
- 2 or more years Manufacturing experience in Chemical / Life Science industry (Preferred but not required)
- Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Design for Manufacturability
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows/SQL databases/OPC servers/Honeywell Experion
