As a Business Applications Analyst (IT Software Asset Manager), you will be using your experience and expertise to maximize the value of software investments while minimizing costs and risks. IT Software Asset Manager responsibilities include:
Software lifecycle management: Acquiring, protecting, maintaining, and retiring software assets. Follows established system of control for assets and manages these assets through their lifecycle from procurement to final disposition. Tracks quality throughout the product lifetime. Responsible for day-to-day operations and lifecycle management pertaining to IT Software Assets within the contracted operating environment.
Software licensing: Ensuring the organization has the appropriate licenses for software and that only approved users have access
Software requests: Processing requests from employees for software applications
Software documentation & compliance: Ensuring the organization is compliant with software licensing laws and security practices. Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software.
Software vendor management: Interfacing with software vendors to establish accounts, download software, and troubleshoot activation issues
Software reconciliation: Conduct and report software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information.
Software cost optimization: Negotiating volume contracts to eliminate or reallocate underutilized licenses. Coordinates with the procurement function to interview, select and negotiate with and software vendors to purchase the appropriate equipment at the lowest cost.
Software automation: Streamlining IT processes to limit overhead costs
Skills:
Experience with IT asset management tools like ServiceNow

Education:
Must-haves: Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience Higher education may substitute for relevant experience Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
