Description:

The Financial Analyst is a key role within our Program Management Organization (PMO) that oversees a portfolio of IT investments for the federal government. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Analyst to support the financial management and budgetary operations for our federal government client in the Washington, DC metro area. This position will involve a wide range of financial analysis tasks, including budget formulation, financial forecasting, and performance metrics tracking. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal government financial systems and possess the analytical capability to enhance financial decision-making. Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • The position required onsite presence at least 2-3 days every month, with additional days as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of financial analysis experience, within a federal government setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of federal budgetary procedures and policies.
  • Familiarity with federal government financial reporting and tracking procedures and guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience with federal financial management systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and industry standards
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and analyzing financial data in spreadsheets with a keen attention to detail.
  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated ability to efficiently manipulate large data sets using formulas, pivot tables, charts, and graphs to produce meaningful analyses and reports.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in written and verbal communications to articulate complex concepts and foster agreement.
  • Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams in communicating financial status.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience with federal contracting.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing interactive dashboards to visualize and interpret data.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Gather and interpret financial data to make informed recommendations to client on short-term and long-term financial planning and strategies.
  • Financial Tracking: Track obligations and expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and financial policies. Create annual spend plans.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the planning, creation, and coordination of budgets in accordance with federal guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Generate reports that include financial data and metrics to internal and external stakeholders and external government agencies.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team and project managers to analyze cost structures and financial risks.
