We are seeking a skilled Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator to manage and maintain the RHEL infrastructure. In this position, you will oversee system administration tasks, ensure the performance and security of the RHEL environment, and contribute to high-priority federal projects requiring 24/7 system availability. This role is based around Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- RHEL System Administration: Install, configure, and manage RHEL 7.x/8.x servers, ensuring system stability, security, and performance.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Track system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- System Backups and Recovery: Conduct regular backups and implement recovery processes to maintain data integrity and high availability.
- Hardware and Software Solutions: Assess and recommend upgrades or new software/hardware to improve the RHEL environment.
- Documentation: Develop and update system configuration and troubleshooting documentation.
- Security and Vulnerability Management: Use tools like Tenable and HP WebInspect to perform vulnerability scans, analyze security risks, and implement mitigation plans.
Minimum Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required (no dual citizenship).
- Availability: Willingness to support a rotational on-call schedule due to the 24x7x365 system needs.
- Location: Must be commutable to Colorado Springs, CO, and available for onsite work as required.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: 7+ years in Linux or Red Hat system administration, with proficiency in RHEL environments.
