Senior Aix System Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Senior AIX Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will manage and maintain the AIX-based infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations. What You'll Do:

• Administer and maintain AIX-based server infrastructure, handling installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams when necessary, while maintaining strong security protocols to protect servers and infrastructure.
• Perform backups, restores, and server upgrades, as well as AIX performance tuning to maintain system health.
• Lead and manage project teams with a focus on IBM AIX environments.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices.

What You Bring:

• Bachelors degree (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• 7+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role, with expertise in AIX environments.
• Active Secret Clearance (required due to contract).
• Proven experience with system troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security management in AIX environments.

Desired:

• IBM AIX Certified System Administrator certification.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently to support geographically dispersed teams.

Location:

• Must reside near Annapolis Junction, MD, and be available for on-site work as required.
