Position Title: Principal Systems Engineer J8/R&T SEIT Support
Job Description:
This person will be responsible for providing programmatic and engineering services in support of USCENTCOM R&T projects where R&T serves the capabilities integrator. This will include efforts to collect and codify mission requirements, explore concepts of operation (CONOPS) and concepts of employment (CONEMPS), develop key systems engineering metrics and assess system and System of Systems (SoS) performance against those metrics, baseline and track solution designs, perform modeling and simulation as required, and plan and coordinate test, experiment, and demonstration events in simulated and/or real-world mission relevant environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s)
- Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Develop system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
- Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
- Lead in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations
- Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions
- Define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan
- Provide overall leadership, guidance, analysis, and technical direction to highly complex, multitask system engineering projects
- Act as an advisor, executive coach, mentor, and counsel to project and senior management
- Recognized authority in the applicable field and extensive knowledge of related fields
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- BS from an accredited college in a related discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Etc.)
- 20 years of professional experience; or 15 years of professional experience with a related Master s degree
- Proven ability to effectively lead and collaborate in a dispersed team environment
- Proven ability to present to internal and external customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project is desired
Desired Skills:
- MS from an accredited college in a related discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Etc.)
- Proven knowledge in technology integration of complex systems
- Proven ability to work within a System Development Life Cycle
- Demonstrated leadership & programmatic execution
- Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) experience
- Methodical approach to problem solving
Clearance Requirement:
- Active Secret Clearance required
- And/or be eligible for a Secret Clearance with a successful background investigation completed
Ability to Work Remotely: Hybrid
Work Schedules: Mission Focused System Inc., MFS, supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedule for this Position: 5x8, Monday Friday
