Job Description

We’re working with a Central Ohio fast-growing company to identify an Sr. Network Engineer. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks, based on business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Proactively monitor network performance, identify issues, and resolve network-related problems in a timely manner. Implement appropriate troubleshooting techniques to minimize network downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control policies, to protect the organization's data and infrastructure from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular performance analysis, capacity planning, and network optimization activities to ensure efficient and reliable network operations. Recommend and implement network upgrades or enhancements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Network Engineer, with a strong understanding of network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPN, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques to identify and resolve network issues.
  • Familiarity with network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and access control policies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
  • Strong knowledge of network virtualization technologies, such as VLANs, VRFs, and virtual switches.
