We’re seeking for our client an experienced and talented

NAFTA Vice President of Engineering - Automotive

Innovation , Acquisition & Application

to lead and drive innovation, product development, and manufacturing excellence for our operations in both the U.S. and Mexico managing a large team of engineers & technicians

This executive role is critical to delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions that meet the evolving demands of the automotive market.

Key Responsibilities , not limited to :

Strategic Leadership: Direct all engineering functions, including product development, manufacturing engineering, and R&D, innovation also supporting growth and acquisition across the North American market. Manages technical center expansion aligned to the global Footprint strategy

Business support : Contributes to current business profitability ; Supports new business development

Operational Excellence: Implement the corporate culture of operational excellence and optimize engineering practices across Mexico and the U.S., ensuring alignment with global standards and continuous improvement in cost, quality, and efficiency …working on design to cost , time to market , any other competitive improvement ;

Team Management & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, distributed between Mexicoand USA fostering a collaborative and innovative culture to attract and retain top technical talent. Ensures a safe and healthy environment for all engineering employees ; Keeps the teams informed about all relevant information; Trains and develops professional growth and performance of engineering managers and senior experts, including their professional development and annual performance reviews as well as participates in recruitment

Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with teams in Mexico and the U.S. , Michigan to ensure seamless integration of engineering processes and project management at their best

Customer-Focused Improvement & Innovation: Lead the development of customer-centric solutions, with an emphasis on meeting regional needs in the fast-paced automotive landscape. You are actively supporting the acquisition process and the programs in front of the client ; Manages product development activities within each customer program with focus on financial returns ; Manages current production design evolution / optimization ; Strengthen customer intimacy from the technical point

Budget management & cost optimization : Create and control Engineering budgets ; Develops and manage to annual engineering operating budget with KPI . Contributes to current business profitability and provides regular reporting to the region and corporate

What We’re Looking For , not limited to :

Extensive knowledge of North American automotive product development practices in addition to

Solid successful experience in Automotive Engineering: A proven track record in a senior engineering leadership role within the automotive industry, ideally with experience across North American markets. Experience in complex modules and/or systems mixing technologies and processes: mechanical : metal /plastics , electronics / mechatronics …, is welcome

Strong Technical Acumen: Expertise in automotive product development, engineering best practices, and manufacturing processes , with strong technical curiosity also for innovation

Bicultural Understanding: Deep understanding of both U.S. and Mexican engineering environments, with a focus on cross-border collaboration and cultural sensitivity. Professional practice of both Spanish and English languages

Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in building and leading large, 100+ , geographically dispersed engineering teams. Performance Management ; Management Proficiency ;Coordination, Coaching

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Results-Driven Approach: Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution, achieving measurable improvements in product quality, time-to-market, and cost efficiency.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

Location: Mexico , Puebla area is an option, Michigan as well ...with frequent travel across North America – ...commuting open depending upon your own location and flexibility

Eligibility: Open to any citizenship , preference for Mexican citizens, U.S. citizens, Green Card holders… ; experience in the region expected with fluent English and Spanish

Education: Advanced degree in Engineering , master’s or a related field preferred.
