We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who can bring fresh ideas and creative solutions to existing problems to keep our infrastructure running smoothly. In this role you'll plan, test, and implement upgrades to our systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on complex issues and ensuring the reliability, security, and optimizations of IT infrastructure
  • Configure and maintain server hardware to ensure optimal performance
  • Plan and implement software upgrades to support system growth and scalability
  • Support and maintain virtualization environments
  • Establish, refine, and implement best practices
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and access controls
  • Administer, and manage Windows server roles such as DNS, DHCP, RDS, and File Services
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring performance and security
  • Manage data protection measures, including backups and recovery processes, while ensuring antivirus and endpoint security solutions are up-to-date and effective
  • Collaborate with external vendors to facilitate specialized services or technical support as needed
  • Continuously monitor system performance, network health, and storage capacity to proactively identify and address potential issues, ensuring optimal uptime and efficiency
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for the IT team, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex technical issues
  • Mentor team members and provide education to users on system processes and best practices


Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in systems administration (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with VMware
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation and task management
  • Competency with multiple operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with end-users
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including querying, maintenance, and performance optimization, is a plus
