Job Title: IT Security Analyst

Location: Hybrid (3 weeks per month remote / 1 week per month in Brooklyn, NY; schedule determined by agency)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst to assess and enhance our security posture, evaluating security requirements based on business strategies and analyzing the impact of next-generation threats. The IT Security Analyst will focus on identifying and mitigating potential security risks and developing firewall solutions to address evolving threats. Key responsibilities also include evaluating security policies, analyzing risk for critical applications, and communicating findings to relevant business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine security requirements aligned with business strategies and objectives.
• Evaluate appropriate levels of security assurance and assess policy compliance.
• Identify and analyze new threats and exploits; design expert firewall solutions to mitigate risks.
• Assess risks to critical applications and recommend necessary security controls.
• Communicate identified risks and security recommendations to relevant business units.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical or business applications, platforms, or cybersecurity methodologies.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity trends, security best practices, and the OSI model/TCP/IP stack.
• Proven experience in designing secure networks, systems, and applications with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience in planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Cybersecurity experience in PSAC/PSAP environments, particularly on NG911 systems.
• Relevant security and/or networking certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, Network+, CCNA, PCNSE).
• Professional experience in a system administration role, supporting multiple platforms and applications.
