As a Market Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operational processes that support our trading and clearing functions. You will be responsible for managing trade lifecycle events, ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving operational issues in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment, and escalating customer requests. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of financial markets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the full trade lifecycle, including trade capture, reconciliation, allocation, and settlement.
• Manage post-trade processes for equities and options.
• Ensure timely and accurate settlement of trades in coordination with clearing firms and counterparties.
• Monitor trading activities for compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and market rules (e.g. FINRA, SEC).
• Handle and escalate customer requests related to trade execution, discrepancies, and settlement issues.
• Resolve trade issues in a timely manner by working closely with internal teams such as trading, compliance, and IT.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers to address operational concerns and provide solutions in real time.
• Support new product and market launches by assisting with operational readiness and testing.
• Assist with regulatory reporting and internal audits related to market operations.
• Develop and maintain operational workflows and procedures to enhance efficiency and risk management.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in market operations, preferably at a broker-dealer or financial institution.
• Active FINRA Series 7 license required. Series 24 or Series 4 highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of trade settlements, clearing, and regulatory requirements in equity and derivative markets.
• Proficiency with trading platforms, order management systems (OMS), and settlement systems.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance (FINRA, SEC, CFTC, etc.).
• Experience with customer service, escalation management, and issue resolution.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
