The Tissue Recovery Coordinator (TRC) is responsible for the coordination and recovery of bone, skin, and cardiovascular tissue. The TRC works with the Tissue Referral Specialist to identify potential tissue donors. You will maintain a thorough knowledge of human anatomy, demonstrate excellent aseptic and tissue recovery techniques, and maintain a low surgical error rate. Additionally, the TRC will assist with other components of the tissue recovery process, such as documentation, reviewing medical information, working with supply coordinators, and obtaining needs reports from contract sterilizers and the Office of the Medical Examiner. Finally, you will maintain an understanding of all DonorConnect, and other agencies, policies and may assist with the training of new Tissue Recovery Technicians.

Training/Education/Certification
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Medical background - RN, LPN, M.A., O.R. tech, mortician, Tissue Bank Specialist
- CTBS certification required within the first two years of employment
- Minimum of one year's experience in an operating room environment or related medical background
- Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields
- Understanding of the operating room environment
- Knowledge of related computer applications
- Excellent public relations and interpersonal abilities
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Attentive to detail and able to maintain accurate records
- Able to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings and within the differing guidelines of each institution
- Works well under stressful conditions, and when asked to work long hours if needed
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to move up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently
- Exposure to patient elements including communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical setting
- Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
