Position Overview:
The founders are looking for a skilled Controller to join their dynamic team and contribute to the financial management and strategic growth of the business
This individual will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, ideally with experience in the energy, infrastructure, or technology sectors. The Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight to support the company’s rapid growth and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, providing accurate and timely financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements. Prepare and present financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Cost Management: Analyze and manage project costs, capital expenditures, and operational expenses to drive efficiency and profitability.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial analysis and insights that support business planning, growth initiatives, and investment decisions.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or technology sectors, particularly in a high-growth environment, is a plus.
• Experience working as a controller for a renewable energy developer, is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software - NetSuite is preferred and Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are a must
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
