Compensation: $120k-$200k base, .3%-.9% equity

Role Overview:
As a Founding Engineer, you’ll have a key role in building the core platform from the ground up. You will work across the entire tech stack, from designing a seamless frontend experience to ensuring a scalable and secure backend. This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate closely with the founding team to shape the product roadmap, execute technical initiatives, and help establish the technical foundation of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Stack Development: Build and deploy features across the entire stack, using TypeScript on both the frontend (React, Next.js) and backend (Node.js).
- Marketplace Platform: Develop a highly functional, user-friendly marketplace for used electric vehicles, focusing on performance, scalability, and a great user experience.
- Data & Analytics: Build systems for collecting and analyzing data on vehicle listings, transactions, and user interactions. Provide insights that enhance the buying and selling experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the founding team on product strategy, feature development, and iteration based on user feedback and business metrics.
- Performance & Monitoring: Set up tools to monitor the platform’s health, including performance, uptime, and error tracking. Ensure the platform is always reliable and responsive.
- Technical Leadership: Establish best practices for coding, testing, and deployment. Help hire and mentor future engineers as the team grows.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2-10 years of experience in full-stack development, with a focus on building web applications.
- Experience in TypeScript across the frontend (React, Next.js) and backend (Node.js, Express, or similar frameworks).
- Frontend Skills: Experience building mobile-first, user-friendly UIs, with an emphasis on performance and accessibility.
- Backend Skills: Deep understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), service design, software architecture and datastores.
- Cloud Deployment: Hands-on experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Data & Analytics: Ability to design and implement analytics features, such as tracking user behavior, vehicle data, and marketplace insights.
- Security Awareness: Knowledge of best practices for securing a marketplace, including authentication, encryption, and safe payment processing.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Passion for designing incredible user experiences.
- Familiarity with marketplace platforms and handling complex transactional systems.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs for services like payments, vehicle data, or logistics.
- Interest in sustainability and electric vehicles, with a passion for electrifying the auto industry.
- Previous experience in the automotive, electric vehicle, or e-commerce industries.
