AACC is a tenure-granting institution. Any candidate hired as a full-time faculty member may be eligible to apply for tenure in the future based on institutional eligibility requirements. AACC offers daytime, evening, weekend, hybrid and online classes. Full-time faculty contracts begin Aug. 16 and end June 15
Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
A strong applicant for this faculty position in the Academic Literacies department will demonstrate a proven ability to teach a diverse array of developmental learners in reading comprehension and academic writing. Candidates should have experience and passion for engaging students from underrepresented and underserved populations. This position requires an educator who meets students where they are academically and connects them to campus and community resources to prepare them for success in college-level courses. Faculty members are required to teach our foundational course ACL 040: Academic Literacies but also serve on department and college committees, advise students, engage in professional development activities, and maintain currency in pedagogical knowledge of teaching developmental reading and writing.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Literacy Education, Reading, English Education, or closely related discipline.
- Minimum of two years of full-time or the equivalent thereof (60 credit hours taught) of teaching college students in developmental reading, developmental writing, and/or integrated reading and writing.
- Evidence of a commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility
- Experience using technology to mediate instruction
- Familiarity with multiple learning modalities- in person and online
- Experience managing or directing a literacy, reading, and/or writing lab
- Experience in teaching English Language Learners
- Expertise in Learning Outcomes Assessment
- Online teaching experience
- Experience teaching at a Community College
