Optima Dermatology is recruiting a Director of Growth and Recruitment to join our Practice Support Center, based in Portsmouth, NH.
Position Details:
The Director of Growth and Recruitment will manage and execute on business development efforts of recruiting and attracting providers to join Optima practices. This role will report directly to the President and work closely with other corporate department heads and the executive team to accomplish our recruiting goals. This role will oversee the recruitment team based out of Portsmouth, NH.

Optima Dermatology has quickly grown to 19 locations and 52 providers in Indiana, Ohio, New Hampshire, and Maine. Optima offers a complete menu of services under one roof, including general dermatology, Mohs surgery, cosmetics & aesthetic services, pathology, and clinical trials. Unlike most dermatology practices, Optima's strategy is based on a de novo approach, opening net new practices within markets that have limited access to dermatological services.
Optima has launched an ambitious growth plan, focused on opening between 5-8 new de-novo practices per year over the next decade in Ohio, Indiana, New Hampshire and Maine due to the attractive supply / demand characteristics in these states.
Optima achieves industry-leading quality of care and patient experience (95+ average NPS), and our mature practices achieve 80%+ returning patients, stable top-line organic growth, and industry-leading clinic-level EBITDA margins.
Optima Dermatology is recruiting a Director of Growth and Recruitment to join our Practice Support Center, based in Portsmouth, NH.
Position Details:
The Director of Growth and Recruitment will manage and execute on business development efforts of recruiting and attracting providers to join Optima practices. This role will report directly to the President and work closely with other corporate department heads and the executive team to accomplish our recruiting goals. This role will oversee the recruitment team based out of Portsmouth, NH.
Responsibilities:
- Grow Optima's provider team by executing on full life cycle recruitment of dermatologists and APP's, including meetings with providers, contracts, negotiation, comp model structures, etc.
- Provide a customer centric, high touch recruitment experience to generate buy-in from physician prospects and encourage them to make the switch from a traditional healthcare background to Optima's innovative model
- Collaborates with recruitment team to approve and oversee posts and outreach campaigns to develop a robust pipeline of candidates across multiple platforms and channels
- Oversees and continuous improvement of recruitment playbook, strategic plans, policies, and procedures for screening, selection, and hiring
- Participate in and oversee transition of providers from the recruitment to the onboarding process and maintain relationships with existing providers
- Partners with senior leaders to understand business strategy and prioritize recruiting efforts accordingly
- Actively participates and networks at conferences, association meetings, and provider recruitment opportunity events
- Travels to physician residency programs to develop relationships and recruit physicians to join our team
- Partner with technical programs and schools to develop relationships and recruit clinical support to join our team
- Monthly and quarterly reporting to management
- Bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated success in sales, client services, or recruitment experience required
- Strong leadership skills required, prior management experience preferred
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, online recruiting tools and sourcing applications
- High degree of technical knowledge and proficiency in navigating between multiple systems. Utilization of digital systems to track and prioritize open items
- Metric and data-driven
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong emotional intelligence and growth mindset
- Experience with CRM's is preferred. Required to maintain accurate and up-to-date information
- Travel required
- Early morning and evening interviews/meetings with providers required
