Description
Our billing department is seeking an individual to join our team of Patient Account Representatives (PAR). As a PAR you will file insurance claims, complete follow up with the filing process and apply/adjust payments for services. You will communicate with patients, insurance companies and staff to answer any questions related to claims filed. After on-site training (up to 90 days) is complete and competency in DMOS process is established, this position works from home. You have the ability to come into the office on short notice. This position is a full-time Monday thru Friday position. At this time, we can only accommodate remote workers within the state of Iowa.

Do I want this job? The Patient Account Rep provides outstanding customer service to patients and physicians who may have concerns regarding insurance, payments, denials and more. You will have conversations with strangers who may be in pain and need help. You can keep patient medical records organized and are confident to present patient cases to physicians. Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You have strong oral and written communication skills. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful. You will work the hours of 8A-5P, Monday thru Friday.
Can I do this job? You must be able to be on the phone or sit at a desk for extended periods of time that may seem unnatural. You must have a high school diploma or GED. A working professional knowledge of the principles and practices of patient accounts and administration is preferred. You are an excellent communicator and can present facts and recommendations in both oral and written form. You have great typing and computer skills. You can think on your feet and are an excellent multitasker. You have to be able to use your indoor voice and use confidential information for patient care only. Patient information that gets shared in clinic, stays in clinic.
This position works from home after training is completed and competency in DMOS processes is established. Ability to return to the office for meetings or training when needed, is required. 2 hours distance from the office is required for at home; Iowa residency required.
