Job Summary/Purpose

Support Entergy’s Finance organization by providing expert financial advice and information to Power Generation plants to support timely decision making. Provide analytical support, assisting with the plant’s financial forecast, reporting, and controls, as well as highlighting key issues and identifying items that may impact profitability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally and develop strong relationships with colleagues at the plant level to gather information vital to the successful completion of deliverables.
  • Employ strong analytical skills to manipulate large, unstructured datasets to support ad hoc analysis and various presentations.
  • Ensure all financial activity at the plant level contains accurate information and is executed timely by monitoring, maintaining and completing key financial functions.
  • Communicate with subject matter experts across the company to better understand the risk of certain projects and/or investments. Communicate with other departments to gather information about Entergy’s businesses and transactions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop financial forecasts to align with the plant’s operational requirements and Entergy’s regulatory objectives.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and execute deliverables in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Possess strong desire and willingness to support the team and plant beyond core responsibilities.
  • Work on cross functional teams to improve processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to excel in a hybrid work environment which combines in office and remote work settings.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education and experience required of the position :

Financial Analyst II: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, a relevant field, and 2+ years of business experience in banking, finance, or project development is required or in lieu of a degree 6+ years of business experience in banking, finance, or project development is required

Financial Analyst III: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, a relevant field, and 4+ years of business experience in banking, finance, or project development is required or in lieu of a degree 8+ years of business experience in banking, finance, or project development is required

MBA is a plus

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position :

Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge and experience in working with Financial Reporting Software. Experience using Power Bi or similar visualization tools is a plus. Ability to work with minimal supervision or within a team environment. Ability to analyze problems and create solutions. Knowledge of financial theory and valuation. Ability to understand and solve complex financial transactions. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple time sensitive projects effectively. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
