Overview: We are seeking an entry level Energy Modeler to join our team. The Energy Modeler 1 will create detailed design drawings using CAD software and perform energy modeling analysis for residential structures using whole building analysis programs such as Ekotrope, and EnergyPro. The Energy Modeler 1 will work closely with other members of the design team to produce accurate, high-quality designs that meet the needs of the project.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD and/or Sketchup).
  • Ability to analyze design sketches and specifications to create technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure drawings are accurate according to specifications
  • Time management skills to work with multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Above average mathematical skills

Additional Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

  • Create detailed design drawings using CAD software
  • Evaluate existing designs and develop new and improved designs
  • Ensure design drawings meet industry standards and specifications
  • Maintain documentation of designs
  • Obtain HERS Rater Certification

Reports to: Energy Modeling Manager

Requirements

Education, Experience and Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in CAD design
  • Basic Microsoft Excel
  • HERS Rater or Modeler Certification a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to read and understand a set of residential architectural plans
  • Strong time management and organization skills

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Environment: Office

Physical Demands: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 40 hours; Office open 7am-6pm M-F
