Job Summary: Knight Federal Solutions is seeking highly motivated candidates to join a team in testing new software and hardware baselines for a next-generation cyber training environment for the US Army in collaboration with the Joint Cyber community.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support the design and creation of hardware/software test cases, scenarios, and procedures that incorporates the use of a variety of software applications and tools.
  • Perform unit testing, configuration item and system level tests, manage automated testing, and support verification/validation testing as required.
  • Develop test plans and test reports for all levels of testing performed.
  • Work closely with the customer, development staff and systems engineers to thoroughly understand the system requirements and software implementation. Will be required to work with a team of Engineers from a diverse background of expertise.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years or greater experience with testing or debugging of software, hardware and training systems.
  • Experience testing of web-based applications in a rapidly changing and evolving environment.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Python) or automated testing applications.
  • Must be able to take initiative, communicate with team members, and identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required.

Knowledge in any of the following areas would be considered a plus:

  • DevOps automation and orchestration
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and Zephyr
  • Hardware troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
  • Experience with virtualization
  • Familiar with Linux.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. May substitute relevant military or work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Four (4) years' experience in a Test Engineer position testing new software baselines, as well as supporting installation of software and hardware at remote sites.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance is required.
