Job Description
HealthPartners is hiring for a full-time Actuarial Analyst.
This is a work from home position.
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for providing actuarial analysis and technical support for a wide variety of health insurance products and markets.
Accountabilities
Performs pricing and trend analyses and experience studies with a low to moderate level of complexity.
Maintains and may assist with creating spreadsheet models for projects such as financial projections, reimbursement analyses, premium development, and pricing of new products.
Maintains and may assist with creating data sets and data reports for various projects and models.
Supports and assists in the actuarial process of rate filings with the Minnesota Department of Health and other regulatory agencies.
Prepares reports and project summaries for customers at various levels of technical understanding.
Provides actuarial and technical support to other departments.
Participates in coordination of small to mid-sized projects and market lines, providing analysis and representing HealthPartners at meetings with regulatory agencies or small to mid-sized employer groups.
Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish departmental goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or related field
Has passed at least one Society of Actuaries exam
Good oral and written communication skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
Good organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Has passed two or more Society of Actuaries exams
SAS and Access programming experience
Two years actuarial experience, preferably in the health insurance/managed care industry
