Job Summary:
The D365 Business Central Specialist will be responsible for managing, customizing, and enhancing our Dynamics 365 Business Central environment to support various business processes. This role will work closely with department leaders to ensure seamless integration of D365 BC functionalities, enhance user experience, troubleshoot system issues, and provide guidance on best practices.
Key Responsibilities:System Administration:
- Serve as the primary administrator for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Ensure system performance, security, and data integrity by conducting regular checks and audits.
- Implement and oversee system updates and patches, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum compatibility.
Customization & Configuration:
- Customize and configure the D365 BC environment to align with organizational needs and objectives.
- Develop and implement workflows, automated tasks, and other enhancements to streamline processes and improve system functionality.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify customization needs and execute adjustments or new modules accordingly.
Data Management:
- Oversee data migration processes and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality within the D365 BC environment.
- Create and maintain data backup, recovery plans, and processes for business continuity.
User Support & Training:
- Provide end-user support by troubleshooting issues, answering queries, and guiding users in system functionalities.
- Develop training materials and conduct regular training sessions to onboard new users and ensure optimal system utilization.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights into business operations and support data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with departments to gather reporting requirements and create custom reports that meet those needs.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT, finance, operations, and other departments to understand their specific requirements and optimize D365 BC functionalities accordingly.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and Microsoft or third-party vendors for system-related issues and enhancements.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
- Proven experience in customizing and configuring D365 BC to meet specific business requirements.
- Strong understanding of ERP workflows, including finance, supply chain, inventory, and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in data management, including data migration, integration, and data quality maintenance.
- Advanced skills in reporting tools, data analysis, and visualization.
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with D365 BC modules, customization options, and integrations with third-party applications.
- Proficiency in using Power BI for reporting, as well as Microsoft Power Platform, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, and other data handling tools.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical users.
- D365 Business Central certification or related Microsoft certifications.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a mid-sized or large organization.
- Experience in change management and training end-users on D365 BC.
