Introduction:

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer for a long-term program supporting an IC customer in Reston, VA. The Customer's office is the force of choice for developing global infrastructure and delivering solutions that drive influence operations. This position requires specialized skills in Network Engineering to support and develop the networks used by organizations.

Network Engineers will work closely with department heads and IT staff to create and implement computer networks. They will have the responsibility to create code for new or existing networks and may also be tasked with creating instruction manuals to help employees use the network and solve common problems. This is a dynamic and integral role that ensures efficient and secure network operations across the organization.

Role:

1. Network Engineer duties and responsibilities.
2. Support and develop the networks used by organizations.
3. Work closely with department heads and IT staff to create and implement computer networks.
4. Create code for new or existing networks.
5. Responsible for creating instruction manuals to help employees use the network and solve common problems.

1. Maintain computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware.
2. Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks, such as TCP/IP installing and configuring network equipment.
3. Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
4. Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.
5. Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
6. Implementing disaster recovery procedures.
7. Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
8. Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
9. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
10. Active TS/SCI full scope polygraph clearance.

1. Demonstrated experience in system administration.
2. System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields.
3. Demonstrated experience with Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies like OpenVPN, Wireguard, and IPSec.
