Position Overview:

Abacus Engineering is seeking a Structural Professional Engineer with expertise in designing steel and concrete buildings to join our dynamic team. As a Structural PE, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the built environment of Waco and contributing to the continued success of our firm. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a meaningful impact on the community.

Responsibilities:

Lead Structural Design:

Lead the structural design process for steel and concrete buildings from conceptualization to completion.

Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate design efforts and resolve technical challenges.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.

Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay abreast of industry trends, codes, and best practices to continuously enhance design methodologies and processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on steel and concrete building design.

Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.

Strong understanding of relevant building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget constraints.
