Fleet Safety and Compliance Manager

A leading distribution company committed to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of safety is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Safety and Compliance Manager to oversee and enhance our fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• Safety Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Compliance Oversight: Monitor and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including hours-of-service (HOS) rules, drug and alcohol testing, and vehicle maintenance standards.
• Third-Party Management: Oversee relationships with third-party leasing and maintenance providers, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, including fuel providers, repair shops, and other service providers.
• Driver Training and Development: Conduct regular safety training sessions for drivers, focusing on defensive driving, accident prevention, and compliance requirements.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize fleet management systems like Roadnet or Omnitracs to analyze data, identify trends, and generate reports to improve safety performance.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in DOT and FMCSA regulations and ensure timely implementation of updates.
• Bilingual Communication: Effectively communicate with bilingual Spanish-speaking drivers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet safety and compliance management, preferably in the transportation industry.
• In-depth knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Strong understanding of fleet management systems, such as Roadnet or Omnitracs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
