Why This Role?

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming data into powerful business assets. You’ll work alongside talented teams, including data quality and reporting specialists, ensuring seamless, efficient, and secure data operations across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop efficient ELT processes to gather and structure data from multiple sources. You'll work closely with the Data Operations team to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
  • Create Scalable Data Solutions: Collaborate with subject matter experts and solutions architects to design data assets that align with the company’s strategy and scale with growth.
  • Database Management: Architect and maintain relational databases, focusing on both performance and storage optimization in partnership with the Data Operations team.
  • Integrate and Normalize Data: Combine data from various internal and external sources, ensuring it’s clean, consistent, and reliable across all systems.
  • Implement Data Quality and Governance: Work with the Data Quality team to enforce quality checks, validation processes, and governance policies that prioritize compliance and security.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Communicate effectively with Data Quality and Reporting teams, as well as subject matter experts, to translate requirements into impactful data solutions.
  • Document Your Work: Keep detailed documentation of workflows, processes, and systems to support ongoing optimization and transparency.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 4+ years in data engineering or a similar field, ideally with a background in insurance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong SQL abilities, proficiency with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Data Warehousing Knowledge: Experience with solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Analytical Mindset: A knack for problem-solving and a solid understanding of data modeling and architecture.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a valued team member.
  • Commitment to Quality: Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards to ensure data integrity and security.
