We are seeking an experienced senior active directory and cloud migration architect to join our team.

Job Title: Senior Active Directory and Cloud Migration Architect
Location: Central Pennsylvania (telework position)

Position Overview: The successful candidate will manage and support one of the largest consolidated Active Directory and messaging systems in Central Pennsylvania, overseeing a Microsoft-based infrastructure that includes on-premises Exchange 2019, Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, and Azure Active Directory. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a background in AD architecture, cloud migration, and disaster recovery, ready to provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Directory Architecture & Administration
    • Lead the design, implementation, and support of complex, multi-domain Active Directory infrastructures.
    • Manage Active Directory (AD) environments with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
    • Develop and enforce standards, security procedures, and controls for AD access and integrity.
  • Cloud Migration & Support
    • Design, develop, and execute cloud migration strategies, working closely with application teams to assess and upgrade applications for cloud readiness.
    • Lead cloud migration efforts, providing training to team members on cloud services as needed.
    • Operate and maintain systems in the cloud, ensuring seamless application and infrastructure architecture.
  • Disaster Recovery & Security Compliance
    • Lead AD disaster recovery planning, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
    • Maintain security standards for both on-premises and cloud systems, utilizing DNS, KMS, and PKI technologies.
  • Automation & Scripting
    • Use PowerShell to automate and streamline AD management tasks.
    • Develop scripts for Active Directory, Azure AD, and other administrative functions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience
    • Minimum of 10 years in IT, including extensive work with AD administration in multi-site environments on Windows Server 2008 and higher.
    • At least 10 years in designing and implementing cloud migration strategies, with hands-on experience in cloud-based system management.
    • Proven experience as a senior active directory architect, designing, implementing, and supporting high-availability multi-domain directories.
    • Experience with DNS, Key Management Service (KMS), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in managing AD 2016/2019/2022 infrastructures and Azure AD.
    • Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation.
    • Excellent knowledge of both application and infrastructure architecture, including disaster recovery.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Certifications:
    • Microsoft Windows Server certifications.
    • Microsoft Core Infrastructure, Identity and Access Administrator, or PKI and Certificate Services certifications.
    • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation.
  • Public Sector Experience:
    • Experience in public sector projects is a plus.
