Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician III will lead other technicians in the installation and repair of all conveyance and distribution equipment. They will support the maintenance team by designing solutions for difficult problems and coordinating projects, and will support training and mentoring of technicians, including contract technicians.
What you will do:
- Lead the Maintenance team responsible for performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on conveyors and other parts-moving equipment at customer sites to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Work in a hands-on manner and demonstrate SME (Subject Matter Expert) levels of knowledge on all MHE (Material Handling Equipment) in the building.
- Maintain and troubleshoot building conveyor systems and take appropriate steps to solve them.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring equipment.
- Create and implement effective solutions for electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
- Handle and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
- Identify and initiate opportunities for process improvement and cost savings in maintenance activities.
- Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets.
- Handle work orders with detailed supporting data.
- Develop training plans for technicians.
- Provide mentorship to other technicians.
- Help ensure Maintenance team is knowledgeable about safety procedures and always following appropriately.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all teams.
- Manage contractors.
Who you are:
- Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines with relevant experience in automation or complex MHE environments.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Strong knowledge of conveyors and other warehouse parts-moving equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Solid leadership ability and/or potential.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
What you will bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent, vocational, or technical training in maintenance or a related field.is preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
- Experience of multi-contractor management.
- Experience in a multi-site environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be prepared to work nights and weekends as needed.
Work Location: Job will be located in Ocala, FL but must be able to travel up to 40% of time for project work.
