Project Cost Analyst / Financial Analyst
Located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL
(Hybrid Remote / Office 3 days per week )
Report to office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday); Monday to Friday 8-9am start time and end time 4-5pm.
1 year plus assignment (possible temp to perm hire)
Support the Project Managers in managing Project Financials, including budgeting, forecasting and project authorization.
Targeted skill set includes Financial analysis, Project Controls, Cost Analyst.
Monitor budgets, accruals, actuals, variances and cost tracking.
We are looking for individuals that have experience as a Project Cost Analyst.
This Project Cost Analyst position is a Financial Advisor for Construction projects.
Needs to have experience handling financial data with focus on analysis and ability to communicate results/analysis. We do Journal Entries, Variance explanations, Budgeting, Forecasting, accruals and Project Authorization - so an individual interested in Finance, Accounting and Project Management would do well.
Experience
2-5 years in project controls / Cost / Financials.
Project Cost Analysis, Finance or Accounting and know what an accrual is.
Financial or project cost background, Excel savvy, attention to details and ability to communicate financial results / analysis.
Forecasting
Budgeting
Working knowledge of accruals
Journal entries
Understand the difference between capital vs. expense
$100k - $5m capital project spend
Excel skills - above average skillset - pivot table, v-lookups, functions
Understands finances to present to non-technical audience
Bachelor's degree - finance, accounting, economics
Day-to-Day Summary
Forecast once a month, meet with PM, discuss projects, multiple year projects, with forecasting for all projects, LRP long range planning - 5 year plan, request journal entries, work with Companies construction vendors, forecasting with Company construction vendors.
General Info: A Cost Engineering Analyst is responsible for analyzing project costs and providing insights to help project managers and stakeholders make informed decisions. Responsibilities may include:
Analyzing cost data to develop project budgets and estimates.
Monitoring project costs and identifying areas of cost overruns or savings.
Conducting cost-benefit analysis to evaluate project alternatives.
Developing cost forecasting models to predict future project costs.
Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
Providing recommendations to optimize project costs and improve cost efficiency.
Preparing and presenting cost reports and analysis to management and stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with cost control procedures and policies.
Assisting with the development of cost control processes and tools.
Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in cost engineering.
