Maintenance Technician

12 Months Contract

Grand Prairie TX 75050 - Onsite

Your Role:

You will be responsible for maintaining the functionality of our building, servicing machinery, and ensuring minimal downtime. You will also assist in ordering machine parts, maintaining our parts crib, and managing the overall appearance of our facility in collaboration with external vendors and contractors.

Your Daily Tasks Will Include:

• Operating and maintaining all leather finishing machinery
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with finishing equipment
• Completing work orders and preventative maintenance, and keeping records of these tasks
• Operating forklifts
• Performing mechanical tasks such as matching parts, diagnosing visual problems, and carrying out preventative maintenance
• Electrical troubleshooting up to the fuse level
• Performing hydraulic/pneumatic tasks such as changing oil, filters, and hoses
• Performing simple welding tasks
• Assisting in the installation and start-up of new equipment and facility improvements
• Following lock-out/tag-out procedures
• Undertaking other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Role:

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a maintenance technician, performing PM and machine repair
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel
• Understanding and working knowledge of Lean manufacturing systems, 5S and First Time Pass quality systems (FTP)

Physical Requirements:

You must be physically mobile, able to stand for long periods of time and walk around the factory floor. You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. by yourself and with assistance on heavier objects. You should also be able to climb and work from ladders for short periods of time, work at elevated heights and/or in tight confined spaces, and access the roof via hatch and walk on the roof.
