Job Summary

Antenna Research Associates (ARA) Advanced Programs Group is looking for a System Engineer to support existing R&D program. The Advanced Program Group develops new unique products and solution to meet urgent needs in the MILCOM, RADAR, SATCOM and SIGINT/EW markets using accelerated agile product development methodologies. Ideal candidates would be system engineer with experience or desire to work in small multi-disciplinary groups on cutting technology. Can take from concept stage to product fruition in a short time frame.

Essential Functions

  • In this role you will serve as technical lead for system design, system architectures, requirement development system testing, field test and demonstration
  • Support planning, design and execution of integration and verification tests for hardware and software modifications
  • Conduct system level analysis, simulation and modeling as needed
  • Update the engineering test environment for use by the hardware, software and systems test teams including configuration management of hardware, software, and firmware
  • Oversee Rapid prototyping HW in the loop testing, Agile product development HW & SW.
  • Oversee integration and test activities for demonstrations.

Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum 5 years with BSEE (2 years with MSEE) of experience in an engineering role with system integration or test
  • In depth Knowledge in any of the following area SATCOM or RADAR or SIGINT systems.
  • Strong theoretical background in any of the following area s RF system, signal processing or control systems.
  • Experience leading any IRAD or CRAD R&D project
  • Experience with creating test plan, and or conducting performance analysis
  • Experience with troubleshooting and debugging system level issues
  • Experience with RF system testing Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers
  • Experience with communication interfaces, Ethernet, RS-232, 422, 485 Experience integrating HW and SW systems and assist with debugging.
  • IFF or Phased Array System knowledge (Ideal)
  • Experience integrating HW and SW systems and assist with debugging.
  • IFF or Phased Array System knowledge (Ideal)
  • Proficiency (ideal) in Matlab/Simulink, RF measurement, Python, C/C++

Education:

Bachelor s degree Electrical Engineering or Physics, or (ideally MS in EE or Physics)
