American Concrete Products, a growing regional precast concrete manufacturer is seeking a Technical Lead who will direct project engineering, submittal production and technical procurement for Engineer-to-Order (ETO) products. This individual will transition a project from sales to direct the engineering, submittals, procurement and production drawing release.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Project Manager to jointly establish POC with Customer and determine submittal requirements post-sale.
- Serve as technical expert for ETO specials and product lines, draft letters, certifications and manages product & material data.
- Determines engineering requirements; scope and submit design requests to engineering, drafting and vendors.
- Establishes the design budget and deadlines of design requests with drafter, corporate engineering & consulting firms.
- Manage engineering team(s) to ensure deadlines are met, perform shop drawing QA/QC and manages release work.
- Authors, combines, and distributes timely product submittal documentation to Customer, manage red lines and revisions.
- Drafts bills-of-material, lead sheets and purchase requisitions for sub-assemblies and components.
- Occasionally assists with the preparation of estimates and obtaining vendor quotes for large projects involving ETO products.
- Occasionally assists BDM with customer-facing meetings, solutioning and proof-of-concept.
- Maintains up-to-date submittal library of vendor product data, mix designs, cut-sheets, shop drawings, and revision history.
- Works with Staff and Vendors to address quality issues and implement revisions and procedures to prevent future instances.
- Answer and return Customer phone calls in a timely manner and handle issues swiftly and professionally.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in REVU Bluebeam required. AutoCAD/REVIT a major plus.
- Manufacturing, engineering, mechanical and/or electrical control experience a major plus.
- Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Certified Document Technologist (CDT) accreditation a major plus.
- 4-year undergraduate degree. Engineering degree (Mechanical or Civil) with P.E. a plus, but not required.
- Strong computer experience and knowledge in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Sharepoint.
- Job requires some out-of-town travel to jobsites and plants in other states, less than 10% of the time.
