Cloud Security Architect / DevSecOps / AppSec

A prominent technology-driven organization, is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Architect to join their cybersecurity team. This role, based in Midtown Manhattan, requires a strong foundation in DevSecOps, AppSec, and Cloud Security for AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure environments. The position is contract-to-hire, offering a competitive conversion salary and hourly contract rate, with flexibility based on experience.

This position provides the opportunity to architect and secure a complex multi-cloud environment for an organization dedicated to rapid innovation and scalability. The Cloud Security Architect will directly impact the company's security posture by integrating security into development workflows and optimizing cloud infrastructure. This is ideal for someone with a strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach to building robust, secure, and automated environments in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, security, and automation, primarily within AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments (some experience in Azure is a plus).
• Strong expertise with DevSecOps and DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Lacework, with familiarity with emerging tools like Wiz and Google Command Center.
• Proven knowledge in Application Security (AppSec) tools, particularly Ox Security for Application Security Posture Management, and familiarity with SAST, DAST, and other AppSec methodologies.
• Ability to work with legacy systems to retrofit security controls, ensuring compliance across complex environments.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with a proactive approach to prioritizing tasks and achieving quick resolutions.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience in later-stage startups or larger organizations with a clear understanding of mature security programs.
• Relevant industry certifications in cloud security or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer).
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR, CCPA, CIS Top 10) and ability to recommend appropriate security controls.
