Field Service Technician (Remote, 100% Travel, Flexible Hours)
Job Description
As a Field Service Technician, you'll provide essential support to PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sites across the country. This remote role with flexible hours requires 100% travel to various locations, where you'll troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, perform emergency repairs, and deliver ongoing O&M support. You'll play a crucial role in training new technicians, leading technical initiatives, and coordinating with customers to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute design change requirements and implement equipment modifications
Central Inverter experience required
Prepare detailed service reports for site visits, emergency repairs, and equipment improvements
Install, remove, and maintain electrical equipment
Develop maintenance plans and schedules, communicating them effectively to the team
Qualify equipment and systems for operational readiness
Document work performed, ensuring clear, concise reporting
Oversee safety and health objectives to maintain a safe working environment
Use problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment failures, performing annual maintenance on various electrical systems, including central inverters
Identify potential issues impacting solar site performance and support real-time solutions for operational challenges
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
Proven experience in BESS, PV, or a related field, with utility-scale experience and inverter manufacturer certifications
NABCEP certification preferred
Minimum 3 years of verified electrical experience
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
OSHA 10 certification or equivalent understanding of OSHA safety practices
Ability to interpret electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
Experience with solar site installation/maintenance or utility distribution systems
Central Inverter experience strongly preferred
