This is a full-time on-site position located in Ft Wayne, IN.
What youll do
Design and Development:
- Design, develop, and update electrical control panels using AutoCAD Electrical
- Perform equipment sizing and selection; manage Bills of Material for both new and existing projects
- Focus on continuous design improvements and efficient panel production
Project and Vendor Coordination:
- Collaborate with the fabrication shop, engineers, outside vendors, and customers to meet project goals
- Develop quotations and ensure projects meet customer specifications
- Document all stages of the project with technical drawings and specifications
Compliance and Testing:
- Test equipment to meet industry standards and customer requirements, either in-house or onsite (limited travel)
- Propose improvements in line with best industry practices for new and existing projects
- Training on specific products can be provided based on background and experience

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (e.g., electronics, instrumentation, or controls).
- 3+ years of design experience with industrial control panels, including supporting the production process.
- 3+ years of experience with CAD software (AutoCAD / or AutoCAD Electric preferred)
- Strong knowledge of industrial components, including VFDs, soft starters, SCRs, relays, networking equipment, sensors, instrumentation, pressure transmitters, thermocouples, and transducers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of hazardous location wiring in line with domestic and international codes.
- Experience with low and medium-voltage wiring and power distribution methods.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and UL 508A certification standards.
