Description
We are seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our team in Oakland, California. This role involves key technological responsibilities, including designing, supporting, and integrating IT projects, assisting in IT inventory management, and troubleshooting hardware and software applications. This employment opportunity offers a long-term contract.
Responsibilities:
Drive the design and implementation of IT projects, aligning them with the integration of systems and processes.
Provide efficient support to employees in resolving issues with IT, AV, and communications systems.
Assist in key IT processes such as inventory purchasing, asset management, machine provisioning, and onboarding.
Handle hands-on troubleshooting of hardware, software applications, networking, and other technical issues.
Develop and document best practices, tools, and tips to enhance internal troubleshooting processes.
Manage relationships with vendors and third-party providers for application support.
Ensure timely resolution of problems and serve as a point of escalation for the team and users.
Develop efficient processes for reviewing, testing, documenting, and improving practices within the team around security, automation, and issue response.
Engage with partners throughout the organization to proactively address concerns and technical pain points.
Requirements
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders
Proficiency in documentation for maintaining clear and accurate records
Strong design skills to create user-friendly interfaces and systems
Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines
Knowledge of security measures to protect information systems
Experience working with vendors to procure necessary IT equipment and software
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
Experience in onboarding new users and familiarizing them with IT systems
Understanding of credit systems and their integration with IT infrastructure
Knowledge of networking principles and protocols
Familiarity with expense reporting systems
Degree in Engineering or related field
Understanding of IT best practices
Ability to partner with other teams for cross-functional projects
Experience in making adjustments to systems as per user requirements
Proven ability to resolve technical issues promptly
Experience in delivering IT projects within agreed timelines
Knowledge of R Code for statistical computing
Familiarity with JIRA for project management
Experience in handling computer hardware issues
Understanding of asset management principles
Proficiency in Mac OS
Experience using Slack for team communication
