As a Senior Software Engineer at Aret, you will collaborate closely with technical leadership to develop embedded software for sensor command and control systems, state machines, SIT, and high-precision INS control systems. Your role will involve performing comprehensive testing using embedded processors, test benches, and related equipment to ensure the reliability and performance of our systems. You will manage the complete software life cycle, emphasizing design documentation, testing, and validation to maintain our high standards of quality. Participation in scrum meetings is essential, as is the ability to self-direct and work collaboratively with a small software/hardware team to meet customer deadlines. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in embedded software development, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. This position is based out of our Santa Rosa, CA office. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position.

Experiences and Background We Look For:
- Minimum 15 years of software development, including embedded systems development.
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or computer science.
- C++ and embedded development experience.
Nice to Have:
- Linux systems-level knowledge and C++ programming.
- VS Code cross platform development.
- Experience with inertial navigation systems.
- DMA driver experience.
- Embedded Zynq processor application and driver development experience.
- Knowledge of serial communication: SPI, UART, I2C.
- Active security clearance.
Tasks Performed: 30% design, 60% code development and test, 10% meetings.
The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
Other Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
