About the role
In this position, you are responsible for supporting the Product Owner in defining user narratives and detailing out requirements with business support for their use of the policy administration system. In supporting the business, you will be responsible for collaborating with the business team members, internal IT team members, and vendor team members.
- Planning and directing testing, Analyzing business requirements, Working with business and IT, Providing walkthroughs, Monitoring project status, Identifying and documenting issues, Managing UAT logs, Providing production support.
- Gather and understand requirements; work with clients, users, business/product owners & SMEs to understand their requests and be able to translate and breakdown requests into user stories; authoring additional requirements artifacts and project documentation as needed.
- Understand the overall Landscape architect from an End-to-end perspective; work with developers in finding the best solutions from a user perspective
- Support system upgrades including ensuring all changes are adequately tested, coordinating the release to production with our vendor partner, and handle notification of system outage.
- Ensure that system changes are in line with business requirements by creating test plans & expected results, conducting some testing, and coordinating with the testing team to review test results.
- Coordinate varying User Acceptance preparations and activities for dedicated Early Business Testing (EBT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) periods including, but not limited to, data needs, access needs, environment needs, business scenario documentation, etc.
- Create User Acceptance test plans in collaboration with the business managers/stakeholders, business users, business analysts, IT teams, and project managers
- Monitor User Acceptance Testing [execution] efforts and work with users to record and mitigate any issues/delays
- Provide critical feedback and action-oriented recommendations that provide value for User Acceptance processes across the enterprise
- Collaborate with end users from various levels and departments on User Acceptance planning efforts, such as test case creation, trainings, and readiness reviews for projects and major planned releases
- Participate in functional demonstrations of system changes alongside development team and business analysts (system and project)
- Ensure that all entrance and exit criteria to begin User Acceptance Testing have been met and track via the User Acceptance Checklist
- Provide support to end users when they identify issues attempt to resolve the issues or ensure issues are reported/logged with developers, the accurate priority is set, and work-around are identified.
- Review & update knowledge-based articles used for production support as needed.
- Support/Coordinate testing of infrastructure changes.
- Be an integral part of the team by supporting our need for continuous improvement of our processes and operational efficiency.
About You
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals of system analysis & design.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile concepts.
- Experience with Agile methodology, writing user stories, open collaboration, etc.
- Provide weekly User Acceptance statuses on test execution and bugs to all stakeholders.
- Run daily triage meetings during UAT phase, assists in reporting/tracking bugs discovered
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with previous ability working in globally located team situations, understanding and demonstrating sensitivity toward cultural differences
- Ability to cultivate networks throughout an organization to gather support and build a foundation for future influence.
- Sound decision-making skills and ability to take crucial action.
- Ability to align priorities of own area with the direction and priorities of the broader organization.
- Flexibility with changes in tasks and priorities.
- Obtain formal/written User Acceptance (approval) from stakeholders
- Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to shifting or contending priorities and try new things, even at the risk of failure.
- Solid understanding of Commercial Insurance.
- Knowledge of insurance policy transactions and lifecycles
- Solid understanding of data models / table structures with previous ability to create / implement SQL, conduct data analysis and provide conclusions.
- Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the Project.
- Familiarity with SQL, Web-services, XML, JSON and API a plus.
