Position : Senior Power BI Developer

Duration: 6-month contract

Location : 2 days onsite Monday and Thursday in Dallas Texas

Hyper experienced (10+ Years) Power BI developer. Looking for SME in BI for the enterprise. Need to be able to build data models, using Kimball Methodology. Ideally, this person is so easy to work with that they can come to them and say, "hey I want this visual, how can I do it?", so they'll need to be approachable and be that person who can answer questions.

1. Understanding of Power BI Architecture (including Security and CI/CD) and Data Models
2. Expert knowledge of Data warehousing - Fact & Dimension Tables
3. Be able to build Power BI dashboards should be top level
4. How to write queries
5. Knowledge of Azure

1. Must have experience in XMLA Endpoints and Tabular Editor
   
   
   Soft skills are important- Someone who is a technologist/continuous learner. Working directly with business leaders directly as the SME for Power BI within the enterprise.

We are looking for a Senior BI Developer to join our team. Daisy Brand is modernizing its data platform and data visualization strategies from a traditional solution (SQL Server, SSIS, and Power BI) to a more modern cloud data platform using Azure SQL Managed Instance and Microsoft Fabric.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in orchestrating the transition to a modern data platform, have a deep technical understanding of Power BI and possess strong business acumen to translate customer use cases into compelling and efficient visualization designs. This role will drive innovation, enhance user experience, and enable data democratization across our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration
Collaborate with subject matter experts, often in ambiguous situations, to determine business information and reporting requirements.
Foster improved alignment of technology initiatives with business strategies by building and maintaining relationships with technology teams and business partners.
Provide technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams to ensure effective reporting and analyses.
Data Visualization and Administration
Define, design, develop, document, and maintain Power BI data models and visualizations.
Implement advanced techniques using Power BI Premium, XMLA Endpoints, and Tabular Editor 3 to elevate our analytics capabilities.
Develop and maintain complex DAX, Power Query formula language (M), and T-SQL queries.
Stay ahead of data science trends and emerging tools and technologies to continually enhance frameworks, processes, and best practices.
Provide guidance on Power BI security, user mapping, and app deployment.
Maintain adherence to security and architectural standards as well as usability design principles.
Data Engineering
Must be able to create SSAS Tabular models for Power BI dashboard Creation. understanding of connectors from SSAS to Power BI
Work with various data sources such as SQL Server, DataVerse, Excel, Azure SQL, SharePoint Lists/Libraries, API based data, and unstructured data.
Oversee and conduct analysis, design, implementation, and support of the company data warehouse which may include developing ETL routines using appropriate tools
Stay informed about new developments and technologies through continuous learning, industry publications, vendor contacts, trainings, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications
8+ years relevant experience.
Thorough understanding of PowerBI architecture and capabilities such as CI/CD pipelines, data modeling, security, architecture, etc.
Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, On-Premise SQL Server and Azure DevOps.
Strong knowledge of PowerBI dashboard development, Data Visualization concepts, ETL processes, Data Architectures, and Data Modeling.
Must have an analytical mind, be a critical thinker and problem solver.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and/or SSIS
Knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Data Lake
Experience implementing API calls
Experience with manufacturing data
Knowledge of D365 Finance and Operations data
