<>Job Description:</>As a VMware Development and Platform Operations Specialist, you ll be responsible for the development, testing, and maintenance of VMware platforms designed for large-scale, enterprise-level deployment. You ll ensure that platform operations are efficient, reliable, and optimized with logging and telemetry. Your expertise in deployment at scale, advanced placement strategies, and customer-centric reliability will be key in maintaining high standards for operational excellence and client satisfaction.
<>Key Responsibilities:</>- VMware Platform Development: Design, build, and develop VMware platform solutions that meet the demands of large-scale enterprise deployments with a focus on performance, reliability, and customer needs.
- Logging and Telemetry: Implement and monitor logging and telemetry solutions to ensure full visibility into platform performance, utilizing tools such as VMware vRealize Log Insight, Splunk, and Grafana for in-depth analysis.
- Testing and Validation at Scale: Develop testing protocols for platform components, ensuring all critical infrastructure elements are rigorously tested for performance and reliability. Conduct load testing to verify the platform s ability to handle enterprise-scale demands.
- Deployment Automation: Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid and streamlined deployments across VMware platforms. Utilize CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and others to manage new releases, minimizing downtime and manual processes.
- Advanced Placement Strategies: Apply advanced placement strategies to optimize resource allocation and management, ensuring efficient use of resources and reduced latency in mission-critical environments.
- Platform Reliability and Resiliency: Implement strategies to maximize platform resilience, including redundancy configurations, automated failovers, and data protection protocols to minimize service disruption and enhance uptime.
- Customer-Centric Reliability: Proactively monitor platform health and usage patterns, identifying potential areas of improvement that will impact the customer experience.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Infrastructure, and Customer Support, to continuously improve platform functionality and performance. Provide mentorship and best practices for VMware development and operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform configurations, deployment processes, and incident resolutions. Regularly communicate platform status, improvements, and key metrics to stakeholders.
- Experience: 5+ years in VMware development, platform operations, or related roles with a focus on large-scale deployments and operational excellence.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with VMware technologies such as vSphere, vRealize, NSX, and vSAN. Proficiency with logging and telemetry tools (e.g., vRealize Log Insight, Splunk, Grafana).
- Deployment and Automation Expertise: Strong background in automated deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on experience in tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Testing and Reliability Focus: Expertise in load testing, stress testing, and resiliency engineering, with a deep understanding of platform reliability and fault-tolerance strategies.
- Advanced Placement Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with advanced placement techniques, VM management, and resource optimization within a large-scale VMware environment.
- Customer-Centric Problem Solving: Proven track record of proactively identifying and addressing issues to enhance platform reliability and customer experience.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and other relevant certifications.
