Description:
Title - GE EMS/SCADA App Configuration Engineer
Contract - 12 Months
Rate - $60-80
Location - 100% Remote, Anywhere in US (PST Work Hours)
Minimum of 5 years experience.
Support Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the multi-site, high availability EMS system.
Troubleshoots the operational SCADA environment to ensure optimized monitoring and reporting for solid system reliability.
Engages with customers, guiding and leading them through solutions for successful project delivery.
Technical Expertise:
Diagnoses complex problems and implements solutions in a GE Grid Energy Management System environment.
Understands relevant business processes for internal system modeling.
Requires experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of GE Grid Energy Management System.
Supports 7x24 real-time control system environments managing the electric power grid.
Experience and Role:
Experience in information systems, operations, architecture, configuration, or other relevant areas for successful GE Grid Energy Management System implementation.
Performs complex tasks related to analysis, design, configuration, development, and implementation of solutions for business line and functional units.
Writes detailed system design documents, functional and technical requirements/specs, and develops test plans.
User Support and Strategy:
Provides guidance on tests and training plans/materials.
Offers day-to-day support to users and junior configurators.
Drives improved user productivity through new business process and systems solutions.
Contributes to overall IT strategy based on direct experience in tactical projects and user requirements.
Business Process and Collaboration:
Identifies and resolves gaps in business processes.
Acts as a liaison between line organizations and IT for continued development of internal systems.
Mentors others and monitors analysts in project software development methods and processes.
Quality Assurance and Governance:
Coordinates interactive analysis and design sessions with business and functional unit representatives.
Manages interface activities with middleware systems connecting to core systems.
Creates Centers of Excellence based on best practices.
Champions standards and methodology governance, performing code, design, and standard reviews within the department.
