Mid Level Network Engineer *Secret Clearance Required*

TEKsystems has an immediate need for a Mid Level Network Engineer/Administrator to support our customer on a DoD program on site in Rhode Island. Candidate must have an active Secret clearance, Security+ certification, 4 years of experience with Cisco technologies, and CCNA (or able to obtain in 6 months).
Overview of Duties:

• Handle outage and maintenance tickets servicing users through onsite and remote troubleshooting assistance for layer 1 - 3 issues, hardware installations of new and upgraded routers, switches, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, Aruba wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX's, device configurations and reconfigurations, and LAN/WAN outage recovery.
• Troubleshoot outages and resolve network related issues.
• Local element for COMSEC - given briefings on troubleshooting TACLANES, Trained to re-key the TACLANES.
• Install and upgrade network devices and components. This includes switches, routers, and network monitoring devices.
• Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed.
• Investigate, resolve, document, and report the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk.

Qualifications:

• Must have an active secret clearance
• Must have CompTIA Security+ Certification
• Must have CCNA or be able to obtain in 6 months
• Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years' experience in Network technologies.
• Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages.
• Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required.
• Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is a Plus.
• Knowledge and experience working with wireless technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable.
