Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University if seeking a dynamic and organized Events Coordinator to support the Barrett Events Office. Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field and two years of event planning and coordinating experience; OR,Four years of public relations and event planning/coordinating experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Essential Duties
- Coordinate, plan and implement College events; i.e. Lectures, Symposiums, college-wide functions, and Convocation.
- Coordinate, plan and implement Development fund raising events and activities; i.e. Receptions & orientations. Coordinate, plan and implement Special donor group events and activities.
- Develop, recommend, and implement change to program goals and objectives.
- Act as liaison to other departments or campus partners planning and coordinating events in which the Dean or designee will participate.
- Establishment of time frames to ensure handling of all details.
- Coordinate the preparation of administrative and financial reports.
- Provide supervision of clerical and student support staff, to ensure continuity of effort and attainment of goals.
- Maintain up-to-date mailing lists of college and community organizations. Coordinate all aspects of entertaining (obtaining equipment, rentals, and physical plant assistance).
- Coordination of off-campus companies and suppliers relative to the event. Execution of rental and vendor agreements.
- Create invitation copy and supplemental enclosures.
- Reserve facilities, coordinate ground care service. Work with caterers for food, beverages, service personnel, decor and clean up. Arrange for appropriate parking and ancillary transportation as needed.
- Coordinate security needs including personnel, for staff, guests, building, and property. Coordinate guest lists and responses.
- Staff event; supervise additional staff or student hosts.
- Monitor clean up and/or tear down.
- Review and approve all final billings for payment.
- Maintain files of all pertinent information.
- Schedule: 8-5, M-F with some nights and weekends for the hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field and two years of event planning and coordinating experience; OR,Four years of public relations and event planning/coordinating experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a higher education environment, preferably within an honors college.
- Evidence of effective communication skills, including grammar, spelling, composition, and proofreading.
- Experience in managing multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Experience working with sensitive information and collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Evidence of a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in planning academic events, programs, and workshops.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software programs such as Airtable, Stova, Workday, and Astra
- Valid driver's license.
